A new ODC Glass showroom opening soon
It’s always exciting when an opportunity opens up in business. So when a warehouse next to our existing site in Poole became available earlier this year, the team immediately saw its potential.
Doubling our Showroom floor space
“We can increase our showroom space for customers, creating even more hands-on opportunities to explore our sliding doors and architectural glass design.
“It’ll give us much-needed extra dedicated materials storage, and that’ll help us fine-tune our manufacturing and quality control process.
A complete glazed house
At the time we were involved in projects with two exceptional local companies, ARC Architecture, award-winning architects located in Christchurch, and Ecologic SIPs, who make design-led, low impact building systems in the New Forest.
Collaboration with these like-minded teams led to interesting conversations about best use of the new space, and the concept of a showroom with a difference emerged.
“Why not design, build and glaze a complete house in the new showroom space?
“What a great opportunity to show how strong architecture, innovative construction materials and architectural glazing all combine to create beautiful spaces!
And so work began.
A partnership project
Our specially commissioned glass show house is under way, designed by ARC and constructed from Ecologic’s SIPs (Structurally Insulated Panels). When finished, it will be far from just another glazing showroom.
It’s a build design hub: a unique small-scale house and garden room (because there’s no stopping us maxing out the opportunity to show off our glazing) featuring ODC’s thermally efficient slimline aluminium sliding doors, windows and glazed structures.
Your future space within ours
Cleverly designed to illustrate a wide range of glazing solutions, the SIPs house demonstrates real life application of our products, as well as helpful exterior and interior perspectives.
You’ll be able to explore different sliding door designs, glass structures, windows, roof lights and features like glass corners and open corners to inspire your own project planning. It’ll also demonstrate how we work closely with architects to create bespoke glazing for planned openings.
Why SIPs?
Choosing SIPs as a construction material for our show house introduces a unique resource to our customers. Its low impact, lightweight, thermally efficient structures have superb accuracy, with openings guaranteed within 5mm tolerance.
This accuracy speeds up the overall building process; a project constructed from SIPs means we can get started on the design and manufacture of glazing from your architect’s plans. We don’t have to wait until the door and window openings are built, and that reduces lead times by four or five weeks.
What can you see now?
At the moment the glass house is just a shell with openings and the glazing installation has just begun. We’ve captured ongoing construction on video so you can see how quickly SIPs panels create bespoke house structures.
When will the new glass showroom be open?
Though still under construction, we can let you have a preview! Call our sales team and they’ll be happy to give you a showroom tour and demonstrate the benefits of our latest products and glazing solutions.
