“I can now look out at my garden and there are no columns – it’s just lovely. In fact, as soon as the windows were in, I wanted to move in the next day! I chose an open corner design which was really worth it – it brings the garden into my home, which after all is a part of my home.
My architect recommended ODC Glass doors. He had visited their factory in Poole and was impressed by the build quality. And he was right! They are easy to operate, simple to use, firm but not flimsy. They have flush thresholds which was on my design wishlist and I’m delighted to find that they are so easy to keep clean. Just a quick brush will clear the tracks of any bits blown in from the garden.
I chose one of their standard colours; it blends in well with the contemporary design of my garden and so I didn’t feel the need to go for the expense of a bespoke colour.
The installation team worked really hard and were keen to do a really good job. They polished and cleaned them after fitting and gave me a demo to show me how simple they were to use.
Were there any negatives to buying from ODC Glass? Absolutely none!”

“We went to the Poole showroom to have a look at what ODC could offer. We liked the quality that we saw and we liked what they could offer us. We had a few requirements and a visit to the showroom ticked all those boxes.
We needed security and to know that once those doors are closed, they are locked. We didn’t want to worry about lots of different keys when we go out.
We chose bifolds from a safety point of view because we were worried about children running into big glass sliding doors. We thought we would have more versatility with bifolds too.
We were particularly interested in bifolds with handles which were not horizontal, which would impair our view.
We were offered other doors through our main contractor which we declined because they couldn’t tick all those boxes.
Our main contractor had used ODC before on a bigger project and they were very happy with the service and the way the doors had been installed. And we were happy to know that the main contractor and OCD were going to be compatible.
We saw ODC come and measure up. We could see how careful they were and the main contractor was happy too. They came back and checked all the measurements again. We liked that ODC installed the doors, not our contractor because who’s going to be responsible if they don’t work?
We are really pleased with the doors. Even though my husband’s got rheumatoid arthritis and problems with balance he can open and close the doors without any problem whatsoever.”
‘I would definitely use ODC again’
“I’ve always wanted a long, slender Californian pavilion home, an inside/outside house in harmony with the landscape. I found ODC Glass online, visited their showroom and discussed my plans with the team. Glazing was one of the biggest considerations for this project and the solutions were very much a collaboration. ODC listened to my ideas about the design and the site survey meant we could have a two-way conversation to get the result we wanted for this unique house.
We are in a rural location with narrow lanes, but as a result of the site visit I had total confidence in the installation team. They kept me informed step by step and explained how the process would happen. The whole fitting process just happened. It was really effortless and seamless and on time. There was no stress from my point of view. Post installation, the Construction Manager spent considerable time with me to review their work.
As a property consultant I would definitely use ODC again – I work with a lot of contractors and I always try to sift out the best – I don’t recommend people lightly and I know they will deliver.”
ODC were able to give me exactly what I wanted
“We saw an ODC advert in a local magazine and knew straight away that was what we wanted – a particular type of window and door with very thin sightlines. We did have two other companies in the frame, but when we went to the ODC showroom and outlined our budget, they were able to meet all our requirements. The visit was really useful. You can see what you are buying, everything manufactured under one roof and under ODC’s control.
I was looking for doors with minimal amount of frame and saw the SL320s with 20mm frames would give me just that and so that’s why we went with them. I wanted a statement entrance and they had a front door and glass wall design that was what I was looking for. The cost was well worth it because ODC were able to give me exactly what I wanted.
From the moment we placed the order and ODC came and took measurements for the survey, there were no problems at all. We agreed site levels, they kept me updated with the whole manufacturing process and possible installation date. The fitters were excellent, very precise, the thresholds were installed exactly at right right levels and worked perfectly. They did meet a problem with a front door fabrication detail, but it wasn’t an issue – they found a solution, and handled it very ably and efficiently, which was good. Everything went really well – just really good – I’ve got a developer friend who admires my doors every time he comes around!”

“We saw ODC doors in a property that was being built around the corner. They were the sort of thing we were looking for with large areas of glass so we got in touch.
We liked the fact that they were manufactured on site – that was a particular feature that appealed to us. We could actually hear, see and touch the products themselves.
We liked the size of the SL700 particularly because we were looking to increase the door height above conventional ones. What we had seen with some doors was that they had very substantial handles that detracted from the effect that you were creating visually. The 700 handles were minimal and didn’t overpower in any way..
We weren’t originally going to change all the windows – we were just looking at the glazing for the extension. But having seen the ODC windows and also spoken to building control about our existing windows which had trickle vents, we realised the new design could be opened slightly and locked and so that meant that all glazing, both new and existing, could have the same profile and sightlines.
We went through a very thorough survey and measuring process. I would recommend ODC to other people because I like the product and in fact my neighbours a few doors along are doing a project in Farnham and have ordered windows for their annex and another property. The price compared very favourably to a couple of other companies we looked at.”
